140+ Whales Stranded in Australia

More than 140 short-finned pilot whales were seen at the shore of Western Australia. They were found at Hamelin Bay, around 300 kilometers south of the state’s capital city Perth.

7 of the whales have been returned to sea while the rest are still stranded.

“Unfortunately, most of the whales beached themselves on dry land overnight and have not survived,” Incident Controller Jeremy Chick said.
Chick said moving the whales by nightfall was logistically challenging because of the rocky beach terrain and rough seas.

They have also removed whales that have already died to avoid sharks from coming over.

End times or not, this is pretty scary.
