Demo on How COVID19 Could Be Spread in Grocery

Researchers from Aalto University, Finnish Meteorological Institute, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and University of Helsinki in Finland have released a simulation on how a cough in a grocery can be transmitted from one aisle to another, possibly carry pathogens such as Corona Virus.

Their demonstration shows how aerosolized particles spewed out from one person through a cough, sneeze or simply talking can flow through the air. A preliminary result showed how the aerosol cloud spreads outside the immediate vicinity of the coughing person and dilutes in the process.

Someone who has tested positive can cough and leave particles that carry COVID19

Here’s the recommendation by the Chief Specialist at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, Jussi Sane: “The preliminary results obtained by the consortium highlight the importance of our recommendations. The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare recommends that you stay at home if you are unwell and that you maintain physical distance with everyone. The instructions also include coughing into your sleeve or a tissue and taking care of good hand hygiene”

We recommend the same. Stay at home. Let this pass so we can all go back to some form of our way of life.
