Tourists sued by Island after spending holiday instead of doing self isolation.

Jeju Island (South Korea) sued a Mother & Daughter Tourists after traveling for holiday amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The lawsuit alleged that they still travelled despite the fact that the daughter has already signs and symptoms of the virus instead of doing a self quarantine and visited all major attractions on the island. The plaintiffs, the Jeju Island Provincial Government as well as several individuals and businesses affected, are seeking a total of 130 million won (£86,331) in damages.

Both Mother and Daughter tested positive on COVID19 after returning home to their home in Seoul
“I hope to send a strong warning against actions that threaten the deadly struggle of the medical workers, the endeavour of the disease prevention workers, and the participation of our people in their fight against coronavirus,” Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong said in a statement.
