FIBA has set the dates for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, with the event set to take place from August 25 to September 10, 2023.
It will be the first time that the Philippines will host the event since 1978, but this time it will share the rights with Japan and Indonesia. The approved dates of the competition have been decided by FIBA’s Central Board following consultation with the host nations and a recommendation by FIBA’s Competitions Commission.
FIBA will adopt the same tournament format it used in China, with Spain defending its World Cup crown after beating Argentina in the finals. With this announcement also comes the launch of their website which will be continually updated until and during the event.
