New Zealand isn’t just flattening the curve. It’s crushing it.

New Zealand will ease the nationwide coronavirus lockdown next week after claiming success in stopping of the disease, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said Monday, April 20.

It’s been 2 weeks since New Zealand imposed a strict lockdown including swimming in the beach and hunting in bushland as they’re not essential activities. After effect of social distancing the number of new cases has fallen for two consecutive days.

“The signs are promising” New Zealand’s director general of health Ashley Bloomfield said. But Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is determined that New Zealand will complete four weeks of lockdown
