Indian police have enforced the lockdown but last weekend they had punished tourists more of like a punishment we had while we are in middle school.

Ten tourists who has been caught violating the quarantine lockdown rules was forced to write “I am sorry” 500 times and submit it to the police.

The incident happened along an Indian town made famous by the Beatles. The tourists were reportedly from Israel, Mexico, Australia and Austria, and were walking along the river when Indian police arrived. Under India’s lockdown, all nonessential outings are banned.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to extend a nationwide lockdown that was originally slated to end on Tuesday, for another two weeks.

Some states have already extended the restrictions.

On Sunday, India had registered more than 8,300 coronavirus cases and 273 deaths from the disease.
